Charles Youthful, the first Black US Military colonel whose groundbreaking military services career was hampered a century in the past by the racism of the period, was posthumously promoted on Friday to brigadier standard.
Young’s marketing retroactively will make him the very first Black American regarded with that rank, the Military said.
