ISLAMABAD: A notable human legal rights corporation in Pakistan has condemned the assault on senior journalist and previous parliamentarian Ayaz Amir by unknown persons that led to outrage in the region.
Amir, 73, was reportedly attacked a day soon after he called Pakistan’s Army generals “house sellers”.
“HRCP condemns the assault on senior journalist and previous parliamentarian Ayaz Amir by unknown folks. We see it as a different cowardly act supposed to silence independent voices. HRCP needs an investigation and individuals located liable for this act have to be introduced to ebook,” the HRCP stated in a statement.
Amir on Friday was assaulted by unknown assailants in Lahore when he was coming back again dwelling. While describing the incident, Amir, with bruises on his experience, claimed that his car was intercepted by a vehicle while coming back again from the office environment after recording his tv exhibit for Dunya News.
“A guy carrying a confront mask emerged from the automobile and collared my driver,” Amir reported as quoted by Dawn newspaper. “As I questioned the male, a pair of other adult men also arrived by my side, opened the door of my car or truck and unleashed blows to my facial area, and dragged me out of the motor vehicle,” he added.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz took observe of the assault and sought a report from the inspector normal of the Punjab police.
